thoughts on "need to please"

I asked for your commentary. Here are comments from one of my heroes.

"Thanks again for sending your thoughts on the need to please.  Woke up this morning thinking along those lines about a group of folks we know.  My conclusion was that if we are always trying to please to be included, accepted, loved, financed, how will we know when we've done enough or done it right or when the rules of acceptance change? So I sighed and realized that's not God's Way.  Got up and drank my lemon juice and poured a cup of coffee before reading my emails, which included the Need to Please."- Robin Fields
